In a recent interview with Daily Star, Regal revealed that he batted for ‘The Boss’ and was even ready to put his job on the line for Sasha Banks.

“She was the first person I went to bat for to hire, because the people who were doing the job that I do now wouldn’t even give her the time of day. When it came to me getting this job… I went to them [about Sasha] and said ‘look, if this doesn’t work out, you can fire me.’

“To see the way she has come through this, and to see what she’s done [is] incredible.”

Regal revealed that Banks put in an insane amount of effort prior to her WWE debut. Sasha Banks was one of the young people who wanted to push forward and make her name stand out.

“I’ve known her since she was 19, and she used to be an extra at Boston. The first day, I was in catering and she came and sat and said, ‘do you mind if I ask you some questions about wrestling?

“I wasn’t doing this job then, but in the afternoon at the shows, I’d always be training outside the ring. And she’d be one of the ones who would always come and talk.”

At this point, it’s clear William Regal took a risk on the right person. Today, Sasha Banks has her own fan following, a large audience on social media, championship titles to her name, and a promising future.

Sasha Banks prepares to wrestle at WrestleMania

Currently, ‘The Boss’ is preparing to face Bianca Belair at WrestleMania, where she will defend the WWE SmackDown Women’s Championship. Belair earned the opportunity to challenge Banks for WrestleMania after she won the Royal Rumble Women’s match.

The first few times, Banks and Belair endured their defeat like true teammates. Unfortunately, after their loss at Fastlane 2021, Banks snapped at Belair, slapped her, and walked away. This officially marked the beginning of their feud prior to WrestleMania.
