“Working With Coaches..”: Dwayne Johnson’s XFL Co-Founder Dany Garcia Details Challenges Faced by Women in Today’s Sports

The relationship between Dwayne Johnson and his ex-wife is pretty much known to all. Currently, they share much more than a personal bond, as both of them are closely associated with several business ventures. It might be a surprise for the ones who don’t know The Rock’s manager as it is no one else but Dany Garcia. Along with managing him, she recently became the first woman to own a major U.S. pro sports league. She co-founded XFL along with Johnson. She disclosed a few pointers, which reveal a lot about a female athlete working in a field dominated by men. 

After sharing a married life for around 10 years, now The Great One now shares his professional life with Garcia. He even once poured his heart out while throwing some light on their 32-year-old relationship. It’s quite evident, looking at his remarks on her, that he is really proud of his business partner. However, being in a position that not only demands hard work from you but makes people seek your opinion, one needs to be out on social media addressing some of the common issues.

Being the owner and chairwoman of XFL, Garcia took over the NFL on ESPN’s Instagram account on the auspicious occasion of Internation Women’s day. Soon, she put up a few stories talking about the key to success, her biggest inspirations, and sharing advice to women wanting to enter the sports industry.

Along with these, she also speaks about some challenges that women in the sports business face. With her experience over the years, she pointed out one major challenge that was, “working with coaches who don’t know how the woman psyche or even the woman’s body actually works.”

The other challenge that she shared was “just being a woman in sport, getting the space and making the space that you can perform at your best.”

These essential points made by Garcia might sound minor but they have the strength to ruin one’s career. These challenges have to be addressed immediately so things can work out in the female athlete’s favor. So, for all women engaged in the sports business, the 54-year-old has a specific piece of advice for them.

In one Instagram story from the NFL on ESPN page, the XFL founder conveyed how women should focus on being the best human and put their minds on advancing themselves, as it will end up advancing everyone around them. 

She follows this piece of advice in her life and thus shares it with all-female athletes who wish to prosper in the future.
