After Vince McMahon found himself entangled in the hush money controversy, he found it better to retire. After McMahon’s retirement, Stephanie McMahon, Nick Khan, and Triple H took over. However, even with Vince McMahon’s retirement, WWE has been going strong.

WWE has never faced any major competition from any of its competitors except for WCW during the Monday Night Wars. However, when AEW first came into action a few years ago, it seemed to give a tough fight to WWE.

Recently, Triple H allowed Shinsuke Nakamura to visit Japan to face The Great Muta, opening the long-closed forbidden doors. With the forbidden door now open, fans were looking forward to more such opportunities popping up.

AEW wrestler Chris Jericho came up with a mouth watering proposal of having a crossover between two of the biggest wrestling promotions in the USA. Speaking to Howie Mandell Chris Jericho opened up about the prospect of AEW vs WWE. Jericho said, “So WWE for years had the monopoly on the sport. And so my boss is Tony Khan. He was always a lifelong wrestling fanatic, and decided to start his own company. It’s always great to have competition.”

Y2J also suggested that AEW vs WWE would be like DC vs Marvel. He said, “It’d be like DC versus Marvel. It’s probably not going to happen.” However, as soon as this got on the internet, the fans were enchanted by the proposal. And started reacting to it.

AEW, although not a huge giant like WWE, has held its own against WWE. When AEW first came into existence, there was a lot of hype around the promotion and fans went crazy about it. However, as time passed by, the hype has slowed down a little.

Wrestling fans on Twitter went crazy after Chris Jericho spoke about a possible AEW vs WWE situation.

Some fans were of the belief that this crossover would not benefit WWE, but will only benefit AEW.

Chris Jericho signed up with AEW in 2019, and has been with them ever since. Jericho is also a WWE veteran and was with the company for a very long time. Him proposing this dream concept of AEW vs WWE, surely came as a surprise. Although improbable, fans would be wondering if any day it takes place with Triple H at the top right now.
