Wrestling history is filled with matches that are full of absolute carnage. Most of the matches are much subdued nowadays in the WWE owing to the PG era. However, other promotions, such as AEW and Impact wrestling, engage in destructive matches from time to time. Recently Trey Miguel and Crazzy Steve faced each other in a Monster’s Ball Match.
The specially stipulated encounter has always been known for the mayhem that ensues during the match. This time, it was the X Division champion Miguel who defended his title against Steve. The ending to the match was not for the faint-hearted.
Miguel slammed Steve from the ring apron to a table outside the ring, which was covered with barbed wire. Both the competitors literally shook after the crazy spot. The champion had the wherewithal to roll the challenger into the ring and retain his title.

This was the first ever instance that the X Division Championship was on the line in a Monster’s Ball Match. It was the first outing for Miguel in the dreadful match, while Steve had already experienced the bloodbath.
The history of Monster’s Ball match
The Monster’s Ball match has existed in TNA now known as Impact wrestling for almost two decades. The dreadful encounter under this rule first took place way back in 2004. ‘Alpha Male’ Monty Brown bested Raven and Abyss in that clash. The latter has the record for most appearances in this type of match, 49, and the most wins ever, 19.
The toll that these kinds of annihilating matches induce on the participants cannot be quantified. There is a reason that their occurrence takes place few and far between. However, there is no denying the fact that a particular fanbase exists who cherishes such violent matches in wrestling.

One need not see further than the stupendous success of ECW back in the 90s. Even WWE was not far behind, as the iconic Hardcore match between Edge and Mick Foley displayed extreme brutality. Nevertheless, comments from fans highlight that they hugely enjoyed the match-up. Kudos to the wrestlers as both Trey Miguel and Crazzy Steve put their body on the line to entertain them.
Should carnage-inducing matches occur frequently in the WWE too?
