WWE Announces What’s Next for Roman Reigns

The new Universal Champion, Roman Reigns, will find out his next challenger this week on Friday Night SmackDown. A fatal four-way match has been announced by WWE that includes four of the best on the main roster.

The match will consist of Sheamus, Big E, Baron Corbin, and young Superstar Matt Riddle. WWE released a statement regarding this match on their official website.

“Four of the blue brand’s most electric Superstars will have a golden opportunity on Friday Night SmackDown. Big E, Matt Riddle, King Corbin and Sheamus will face off for a Universal Title opportunity at WWE Clash of Champions.”

“Two rivalries will share the ring, as Big E defeated Sheamus, and Matt Riddle vanquished King Corbin at WWE Payback. Roman Reigns sent shockwaves through the WWE Universe by regaining the Universal Title that same night.”

Roman Reigns made a shocking return to WWE a few weeks back at SummerSlam. He cut Bray Wyatt’s celebrations short after the Fiend captured the Universal title.

The same week on SmackDown, Reigns wasn’t officially into the triple threat match as he didn’t sign the contract already signed by Strowman and Wyatt. At Payback, the match would start with only Wyatt and Strowman who were looking to end each other. Wyatt superlexed Strowman from the top rope and destroyed the ring. That was the moment Reigns walked out with his new ally Paul Heyman.

The Big Dog stood at the stage and signed the contract. The Former Universal Champion then entered the ring and won the Universal title.

Roman Reigns will eagerly be waiting to find out his opponent for Clash of Champions. Big E is the current favorite seeing his singles push since Kofi Kingston’s injury.
