SummerSlam created a tense atmosphere for The Bloodline. With emotions flaring high, The Bloodline was anxiously anticipating the mega showdown at the main event. However, it seems like the nervous energy translated outside the ring as well, as one of its important members ruffled a few feathers of a WWE personality.  

Recently in an explosive interview with Cathy Kelly, Bloodline member Paul Heyman struck a deep cord with her past by taking a jab at her past relationship.

Paul Heyman taunts Cathy Kelley

Heyman was in no mood to play around as he was praying for his Tribal Chief Roman Reigns to take down his cousin Jey Uso and conquer another victim.

However, before SummerSlam, popular Raw and SmackDown interviewer Cathy Kelly interviewed a tense Heyman. While Kelly tried to derive the wise man’s predictions before the fight, the manager was not having any of that.

In a bitter taunt, Heyman made a harsh remark and glared at Kelley, saying: “We all have demons in our past, don’t we Cathy?”

An affected Kelly looked down and gathered herself before concluding the interview.

According to Ringside News, while the interviewer looked visibly distressed, she received praise from WWE creatives backstage.

She got a ton of adulation, for her expressions and for closing the segment emotionally by saying “cut”. While they couldn’t confirm whether it was a shoot or real, it surely won Cathy tons of followers in WWE backstage. 

However, the expressions suggest it brought back memories from her past bitter relationship with ‘the demon’ Finn Balor.

Cathy’s past with Finn Balor

For those unversed, Kelley dated Finn Balor for about a year, during the time Balor went to NXT in 2016. The relationship ended because of undisclosed issues. Furthermore, Balor married popular sports journalist Veronica Rodriguez in 2019. 

Unfortunately, Kelley couldn’t find love post her relationship. But she hinted at things being bitter between the two on social media. In 2020, she replied to a fan who asked her about the one thing she hadn’t done in her life. Her reply which stated, ‘finding an emotionally stable man’ caused a huge stir in the WWE Universe.

Ironically, it was a tough night for both Kelly and Balor as the latter lost the chance to win the World Heavyweight Championship in a controversial ending because of Damien Priest.
