Vince McMahon had an enormous hand in making Stone Cold Steve Austin the greatest of all time. Recently, wrestling fans celebrated the twenty-sixth anniversary of Austin 3:16 day. At the WWE King of the Ring 1996 tournament, Steve Austin cut his life’s most iconic promo. He defeated Jake “The Snake” Roberts in the tournament’s finals. Since then, the WWE Universe has celebrated 16th March as Austin 3:16 day.

On that note, recently, Jake Roberts and Diamond Dallas Page sat down together to discuss the legacy of The Texas Rattlesnake. Even though Jake Roberts was defeated by Austin that night, it doesn’t seem that he has a bitter tooth for Austin.

What happened between the USA network and Vince McMahon?

The AEW’s Jake Roberts on the latest episode of the DDP Snake Pit podcast recollected a moment where Vince McMahon pulled a rib of Bruce Prichard by employing Stone Cold. The USA Network smacked Vince McMahon when Stone Cold started frequently using a** word on WWE TV.

Roberts said, “The USA had gotten on Vince’s a** about Austin. He said a**. They didn’t want him to say a** anymore. Vince [McMahon] got Steve right at the desk and said, ‘Steve damn it, USA’s up by b**t. Do not say a** out there.'”

The Texas Rattlesnake agreed to Vince McMahon request, as Mr. McMahon didn’t want any complications for the company. But later, Steve Austin popped up inside the ring and used obscene language multiple times.

The Snake added, “Austin went out there, but poor Bruce did not know that Vince walked around the curtain and grabbed Steve just as he was about to go through the curtains and said, ‘Say it at least 15 times.’ So he went out there and said a** every time he turned around.”

Meanwhile, WWE Executive Bruce Prichard backstage couldn’t believe that Stone Cold would use a** word on TV. In addition, Vince McMahon, being a clever person, acted as if he was furious at Austin. However, it was all Mr. McMahon’s idea to rib Bruce Prichard all along.
