Carmella thinks her “looks” are making it difficult for her in WWE

Recently, Carmella appeared on WWE ‘After the Bell Podcast‘, where she recalled an incident when she was newly signed on NXT back when she started with WWE.

“When I got signed in NXT, I remember Bill Demott said, ‘You’re going to have to work twice as hard as everyone else because you’re pretty.’ I remember being like what? That’s crazy. You see all these girls from the past that were gorgeous and these models and all of that, so I was like, that’s crazy to hear from a coach.”

“You’re going to have to work twice as hard because people aren’t going to respect you because of how you look? And it just blew my mind, and I remembered thinking, okay, noted and challenge accepted.” Carmella said. [h/t: WrestlingInc]

WWE was once really behind when the creative team put James Elseworth by her side and she won the Women’s Money in the Bank briefcase and eventually, won the SmackDown title. However, it looks like now she is lost in the shuffle amongst the talented female superstars on the roster.
