WWE Cousin Tag Team Make Their Main Roster Return To Aid Santos Escobar Against Bobby Lashley on Smackdown 12/22

Bobby Lashley and Santos Escobar met in an intense United States title tournament match on SmackDown. While the entire match was quite engaging, the best part was still the return of the popular cousin tag team consisting of Humberto Carrilo and Angel Garza who took Escobar’s side at the end of the match.

The brothers hit the ring briskly and left costing Lashley a shot at the US title.

Their on-point distraction allowed Santos to get away with a pinfall victory over Lashley via a roll-up after a tiff battle.

Their alignment in this week’s SmackDown, was, however not completely unforeseen. There have already been teases made for the NXT pair to get caught up in the Santos Escobar- LWO affairs since last week.

Now, we have to see how their alliance with Escobar pans out in the future storyline.

However, despite getting unforeseen assistance from the tag team duo, the Mexican star had to face the wrath of Zelina Vega afterward.

Zelina Vega dished out jabs toward Santos Escober after what he did tonight at SmackDown

Ever since Escobar turned on Rey Mysterio things have been changed between the two LWO members. Vega vehemently opposed Escobar’s move and handed him a tight slap on the same showdown. That said, Escobar couldn’t just let it slip without retreating. He, as revenge, brutally defeated Joaquin Wilde, Cruz Del Toro, and Carlito afterward.

The incident has largely made rounds on social media. Capitalizing on the heat, Vega again badmouthed him tonight via a social media post after he gave Lashley a hard reality check.

The New York native wrote, ‘Pende*os’ retweeting the segment.

With the win, Escobar moved one step closer to the coveted US title. He will first lock horns with Kevin Owens at the New Year’s Revolution edition of WWE Smackdown on January 5th and if he picks up the win, it will be Logan Paul vs Escobar for the United States title at the 2024 Royal Rumble PLE.
