WWE Doesn’t Want to Lose the “Ryback” Trademark in the Ongoing Legal Battle

Ryback is a part of an ongoing legal battle with WWE over the rights to his name. This entire battle started after Ryback exited the company, and then legally changed his name from Ryan Reeves to Ryback Reeves.
According to Ryback, the lawyers at WWE have stated that they are not backing off from this battle due to the former Superstar badmouthing the company. However, he thinks the truth is always bitter. Hence, the longer the company drags on the battle, the more he will have to pay in attorney fees. Furthermore, the more he pays, the more he reveals the truth about the company.
.@wwe attorneys claim they don’t want to let the Ryback trademark go because I “bad mouth” the company. No assholes, I speak the truth about the shit company and haven’t scratched the surface yet. Let the trademark go, you’re going to lose and the more I pay the more I speak.

The history of Ryback vs WWE
Looking at the history of this battle, Ryback has a point to make when he believes the trademark for the name should be his. Originally, the company applied for the ownership back in 2011. However, in May 2019 the former Superstar applied for the trademark. It was in the same year that the company put in an application to renew its former right.

The interesting point to note here is that WWE applied to renew its right three years after Ryback quit. Moreover, the company put in the application at exactly the same time their former employee did. This points towards the company deliberately attempting to sabotage Ryback.
Previously, he has mentioned the company trying to coax him into signing over his social accounts over to WWE. This included his website, podcast, and other streams as well. Vince McMahon and Co. tried to get him to succumb to the demands towards the latter end of his final contract.

I want everyone to see how petty @wwe is. A trademark that they renewed the last day so I couldn’t get it for a minimal fee and one they don’t use anymore and haven’t used in games, MERCH etc. I am the trademark and created prior to working there. Let it go and let’s move on! 💪 https://t.co/qQ4gxyOtUf

Lastly, The Big Guy has revealed that the company attacks Superstars with a hard time whenever it is revealed that they have been in touch with him. Therefore, the Superstars are quite cautious about making contact with him.

“That’s why a lot of them (WWE Superstars) don’t even want to affiliate and talk with me now. Because there’s heat now in that. And there are people that speak up and tell the truth, because this is how they make their living. This is why I was so hell bent on being able to create a living outside of that screwed up world.”
