WWE Executive Director Recalls Meeting Hulk Hogan for the First Time After WrestleMania III

Hulk Hogan is a legendary figure in WWE. The Hulkster went to several wrestling promotions and rose to superstardom. During his legendary career, Hogan worked with various people. One individual who worked quite a lot with Hulk Hogan is Bruce Prichard.

During a recent episode of Something to Wrestle with Bruce Prichard, Prichard revealed his first meeting with Hulk Hogan. He noted it was actually after WrestleMania III.

He said, “The first time that I ever had the opportunity to be around Hulk Hogan and actually meet him face to face was at Worcester TV after WrestleMania [WrestleMania III].”

The Senior Vice President of WWE mentioned it was actually the first television taping post-WrestleMania III.

Further, Prichard noted Nelson Sweglar was the head of the production for Vince McMahon at that time.

He revealed the reaction to Hulk Hogan’s entrance and what Nelson told him and Joel Watts while they were in the arena with him.

He added, “Nelson was in the arena with us and he looks, turns to Joel and I, and said, ‘boys wait till you guys hear this, I bet you’ve never heard anything like this before’. And it was the entrance of Hulk Hogan. It was a huge pop, it was a tremendous ovation.”

Hulk Hogan did the unthinkable at WrestleMania III

Later on in the interview, Prichard mentioned that when Hulk Hogan used to come out, the entire arena would erupt. There was electricity in the building that was unmatched in the industry. Well, the WWE Hall of Famer is certainly a crowd favorite even today.

Over the years, during his wrestling career, Hogan won many championships and entertained the fans through his memorable matches. But the WWE Universe will forever remember his match at WrestleMania III.

At WrestleMania III, The Hulkster faced André the Giant in a thrilling contest. André the Giant was one of the major stars in the company at that moment.

And his match against Hogan is considered to be one of the greatest matches in the history of WrestleMania.

On that night, Hogan defended the WWF World Heavyweight Championship against André the Giant. In fact, he shocked everyone by lifting and hitting a body slam on André the Giant.

Hogan pulled off something that looked almost impossible. He finally won the match after hitting a leg drop.
