WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle Reveals Why He Moved to ECW in 2006

Paul Heyman is one of the go-to guys if you want to make it big in WWE. The wrestlers he managed have become the top stars in WWE. Along with on-screen power, Heyman also has a massive backstage pull. Wrestlers like the Big Show and Kurt Angle are some examples of wrestlers Heyman managed.

During a recent episode of “The Kurt Angle Show“, co-host Conrad Thompson conveyed a question asked by a fan to Angle. The question was that the WWE influx of guys that they used starting out were guys Paul had worked with before. The fan wanted to know if all that was Paul Heyman’s idea to just use sort of “Paul Heyman” guys. Angle agreed and said,

“I would say yes. I don’t know for sure but Paul Heyman worked really well with Big Show and I. He worked well with certain individuals and he wanted those guys on his ECW roster. And I didn’t blame him. I love Paul Heyman. I love his ideas, his concepts. He’s one of the best promoters in the world, you know. His creative mind is incredible and I’ve always had faith in him. So I knew that he would eventually pick me to be in ECW and Big Show got along with him really well too. And that’s the reason why they [WWE], you know, moved us over to ECW because Paul Heyman loved us.”

Paul Heyman managed Kurt Angle and more wrestlers

The fans know that Heyman is one of the creative minds at work behind the TitanTron of WWE. Along with a creative mind, his promo ability is unmatched by any other manager. Some would even argue that Brock Lesnar struck fear in the hearts of his opponent because Heyman presented him in such a compelling way.

Even though Heyman is a heel in WWE for most of his time, the fans love whenever he gets on the mic. Apart from being a manager, he also has a keen eye for talents.

As mentioned earlier, wrestlers like Paul Wight and Kurt Angle are just two of the many examples of wrestlers who flourished under Heyman’s wing.
