WWE Issues Injury Updates on Rhea Ripley, Kyle O’Reilly, and Pete Dunne

This week’s WWE NXT brought some top-notch action to us as the buildup to NXT New Year’s Evil continues. When there is hard-hitting action on the show, there is always a scare of an injury; this week was no different. Here’s looking at injuries that NXT Superstars suffered this week on NXT.

WWE NXT weekly Injury Status

WWE uploaded the NXT Injury Report following this week’s NXT on USA. In the video, host Matt Camp provides an update on the injuries that a few NXT Superstars suffered this week.

Kyle O’Reilly defeated Pete Dunne in a classic match that was simply a treat to watch, that too, on TV to become the #1 Contender for Balor’s NXT Championship. They reported both O’Reilly and Dunne suffered bruises and contusions.

Camp also provided an update on Rhea Ripley and Toni Storm after an exciting main event match up. It was revealed that Rhea Ripley suffered ear trauma and skin disfigurement. Ripley suffered a similar kind of an injury a few weeks ago when she fought Io Shirai in a MOTY caliber match.

Also, on the show Indi Hartwell lost to Shotzi Blackheart by disqualification when the referee saw Hartwell attack Shotzi with a Shotzi trophy. On a lighter note, Camp said the Shotzi trophy broke off, but was taped up and is now on a day-to-day basis.

What’s next on the black and gold brand?

Well, with the kind of episodes that NXT has put up over the past few weeks, we can’t wait for NXT New Year’s Evil! The episode is sure to be a great one, with Finn Balor defending the NXT Championship against Kyle O’Reilly.

Balor and O’Reilly fought in a classic match at NXT TakeOver: 31. This match between the two was so intense that Balor ended up with a broken jaw that took him out of action for over a month.

Rhea Ripley won’t miss any time owing to the injury she suffered, so expect her and Raquel Gonzalez to turn the heat up as we head into NXT New Year’s Evil on Jan 6th 2021.
