Different people in the wrestling industry have different views on CM Punk‘s WWE return. In a recent pre-event conference call for NXT’s Deadline, WWE legend Shawn Michaels presented his views on the topic as well. Considering his open mindset regarding the return before it happened, his views on the subject have only grown stronger.

WWE legend does not consider CM Punk a ‘tough’ business call

Judging by the controversy that Punk has found himself on various occasions, a question that remained among wrestling fans was whether he would prove a healthy business choice for WWE.

On a previous occasion, The Heartbreak Kid had been invited about the idea of Punk joining the promotion. Even after his arrival, Michaels’ views remain intact.

Wrestling Observer recently broke interesting information about the pre-show conference call. The media house reported that HBK considers Punk a healthy choice from a business perspective and wishes for the company to thrive more.

Despite the altercations that “The Best in the World” has had in the past, Michaels believes that all will go well from this point onward.

Through his words, it is pretty much confirmed that the WWE legend is happy that CM Punk has returned to his ‘home’.

The news of Punk’s return to WWE wasn’t confirmed until the moment he showed up at Survivor Series after the men’s WarGames match was wrapped up. So, when rumors were going around about his possible return, HBK was supportive of the idea.

Shawn Michaels hinted at CM Punk’s return way before Survivor Series

Despite feuding with the former UFC star in WWE before, Michaels wanted to open him with open arms. On a call to promote NXT’s ‘No Mercy’ back in September, people brought up CM Punk to see how NXT’s GM would react. Much to their surprise, he was on board with the idea of his former colleague returning.

On the public call, Michaels clearly announced that he would welcome the Chicago-based wrestler in NXT. Even though he knew that he would go straight to the main roster, the former WWE Champion was ready to accept him as an NXT star.

This was also one of the few hints at CM Punk’s imminent WWE return that ended up happening two months later at the last main-roster PLE.
