Wrestlers are known for putting their bodies on the line every time they enter the ring. These superstars don’t think twice to entertain the audience who come to watch them wrestle. Therefore, they injure themselves frequently, which can be a small niggle or even a career-ending injury. Healing the injury is part of the recovery, and superstars compensate for that so that they can quickly start wrestling again. WWE legend and Hall of Famer Kurt Angle recently revealed the aftereffects of not treating your body well even after it demands to.

Kurt Angle regrets not treating his body well
Kurt Angle, in his prime age, was just an unstoppable machine. The former World Champion would show up for every show and put on some genuine classics. But as years passed by, Kurt felt the aftereffects of his many injuries. Angle is still seething from all the injuries that he had during his wrestling days. He recently discussed this issue on The Kurt Angle Show along with the host Conrad Thompson. The former Olympic gold medalist regrets his laziness in healing his injuries.

Kurt Angle added- “You know the reason why I’m so banged up now is because I didn’t take care of my body.. While I was performing. I was lazy and didn’t take the steps necessary to take care of my body and I suffered from it. I did the quick fix, I took painkillers and went to sleep. That is not how you heal your body. That is how you destroy your body. Unfortunately, that is what I did..”

Kurt and his history with injuries
Kurt Angle is someone who will take that extra risk to get what he wants. This was evident in his Olympic Gold medal victory as Kurt later disclosed, he wrestled at the Olympics with a broken neck. The former World Champion also had a similar issue in WWE with multiple injuries throughout his career. But Kurt never quit or said no to a wrestling match unless he had a severe injury. Angle revealed he used to take a lot of painkillers back in his prime to have a quick fix.

But now those injuries have caught him up, and Kurt is seriously banged up these days. The former WCW champion revealed on multiple occasions how he ended up having addictions to painkillers in the latter part of his career. Because of his lack of awareness about his own body, Angle is still suffering and recuperating from all those injuries he had during his amateur and professional wrestling career.
