Stone Cold Steve Austin’s WWE return is one of the hottest topics of discussion in the pro wrestling world. Several former WWE superstars and WWE legends have expressed their thoughts on Steve Austin making his in-ring return.

WWE Raw superstar Kevin Owens is rumored to be Austin’s opponent at WrestleMania 38. Kevin Owens also uses the Stunner as his finisher, just like Austin used to do. The WWE Raw superstar might have one of the biggest matches in his WWE career at WrestleMania 38.

Recently, speaking on the Jim Cornette Experience Podcast, Cornette mentioned why the Owens-Austins feud is perfect rather than someone like Bobby Lashley going up against Steve Austin.

First, he stated if Steve Austin competed against one of his old rivals, then there would have been a problem of the same age. Further, Cornette mentioned he feels Austin would have also turned down facing Bobby Lashley.

Jim said, “Austin would turn that down, not because he would think Lashley would hurt him. But because they couldn’t have physically the kind of match that Steve Austin would have with a guy like Bobby Lashley. But with Owens, he can be Dick the Bruiser if he wants to be.”

Further, Jim Cornette mentioned why it makes perfect sense for an Austin-Owens feud.

“A lot of smoke and mirrors, the right moves in the right place, the promos will more than accomplish the mission of building it up. And Steve Austin coming back to shut a young whippersnapper’s f***ing smart a*s mouth,” he added.
