The Attitude Era saw some of the out of the box things happening in WWE. Vince McMahon went all-in on his roster, mostly men’s division who were drawing more at the time.

However, when the men were at the center of WWE programming in the late 90s, a female superstar made quite a name for herself. Mick Foley recently shared about believing she would have achieved a major feat in WWE.

On the recent episode of Foley is Pod: Remembering Chyna, Mick Foley praised “The Ninth Wonder of the World”. Moreover, the WWE legend believes that she would have been the WWE Champion in her career.

Foley said, “I do. I do. I mean, look, Vince McMahon was World Champion. David Arquette was World Champion. Vince Russo was World Champion. Yeah, I think there’s a very real chance that she could have.”

The former WWE Champion has a point as the late 90s was a different era for wrestling. With the rating wars between WWE and WCW were ongoing and both the companies were ready to pull off a stint better than the other.

She was already tossing men around the ring with her immense strength. Furthermore, the fans were enjoying her run in WWE and seeing standing toe-to-toe with the men’s division.

Chyna didn’t have leverage against Vince McMahon 

Mick Foley addressed Chyna’s departure from WWE. He focused on the point that there were no WCW and ECW when she left. Hence, she didn’t have any leverage while negotiating with Mr. McMahon.

The former Intercontinental Champion’s jump to WCW of ECW would have been a big one. Unfortunately, both the companies were purchased by Vinnie-Mac when she left WWE. Therefore, she went to Japan to continue her wrestling career for the year 2002.

Chyna once rejected a match against Laila Ali

“The Ninth Wonder of the World’s” former fiance Sean Waltman once shared The Tomorrow Show about Chyna rejecting a fight against Laila Ali. NJPW legend Antonio Inoki, who had the first Mixed Martial Arts style match against Muhammad Ali wanted to make it happen again.

However, this time Inoki wanted it to happen against Chyna vs Laila Ali when she was in NJPW. Nevertheless, as per Waltman, she rejected the fight as she know she would be at the losing end.

X-Pac said, “No, Come on … Laila Ali was the best female boxer in the world … Joanie knew. She was like that’s — no way. It ain’t happening … She was realistic about it.” (H/T Yahoo News)

The match would have been a great one and would take her career to the next level. Despite, that she is an inspirational figure in professional wrestling. In 2019, she was inducted into the WWE Hall of Fame as a member of D Generation X.
