Today’s Friday Night SmackDown is over, but the goosebumps are still there. Surely, this week’s blue brand episode was one of the best of this year as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson finally returned to his old home. With The Rock and John Cena under the same roof, the level of excitement in the building was quite high.

Not only the fans, but people in the backstage area were also full of beans. This is why WWE had to make a major change in the backstage area in Denver’s Ball Arena.

Sean Ross Sapp of Fightful recently logged on to his X (formerly known as Twitter) account to give a piece of big inside information on Johnson’s shocking return on SmackDown.

He said that WWE allowed five times as many people in the Gorilla position as they typically do. All this is because of The Rock’s return, which was electrifying as always.

The Gorilla position is a backstage space with monitors behind the curtain where higher-up individuals in creative/production would wait for wrestlers to go to or return from the ring. The individuals holding that role are accountable for providing final directions or modifications to the program.

Surely many WWE employees were eager to see Johnson go out to the ring, which is why they filled up the room five times its capacity. That’s how much influence The Rock has on people.
