WWE Official Teases the Return of the Prestigious King of the Ring Tournament

WWE official and producer Adam Pearce teased a potential return of the WWE King of the Ring Tournament via his Twitter account. The on-screen official of RAW was tweeting a reply to a tweet that WWE Superstar Xavier Woods made through his Twitter account about the KOTR tournament.

The last time WWE conducted a KOTR tournament was back in 2019, and WWE Superstar Baron Corbin stood tall in the ring by defeating Chad Gable in the finals.

For the past few months, Xavier Woods has been demanding the return of the KOTR tournament via his social media platforms. Rumors were flying in parallel to when Woods was raising his voice for the return of the tournament. WWE official Adam Pearce came into the picture.

Since then, the duo has been having several interactions on social media platforms about the return of one of the most prestigious tournaments of WWE.

Recently, Xavier Woods took to Twitter to comment about the possibility of a KOTR Tournament. The former RAW Tag Team Champion tweeted-“ I’m ready for a one night king of the ring tournament.” Not to the surprise of many fans, Adam Pearce, who saw the tweet, replied with a thinking emoji which may have suggested that WWE may indeed bring back the KOTR tournament and conduct it in a single night.

The WWE Crown Jewel PPV will take place in October this year, and WWE is returning to Saudi Arabia after the pandemic. If the reports are to be believed via Andrew Zarian of the Mat Men Podcast who reported that the King of the Ring tournament is set to take place in the Crown Jewel PPV. WWE is also planning to conduct a WWE Queen of the Ring Tournament for the women’s division on the same night.

WWE may pull off the idea of conducting the KOTR tournament in a single night, and Woods may have just spilled the beans about the plans to the wrestling world. The KOTR tournament is one of the most iconic tournaments in the history of WWE. Many legends and young sensational superstars have won the tournament in the past.

The likes of Stone Cold Steve Austin, Baron Corbin, Bret Hart, Kurt Angle, Brock Lesnar, and more have added the title of King to their names in the past. And maybe this time around, Woods may end up being the King by winning the KOTR tournament.
