WWE Possibly Bringing Back Former 6-time World Champion at the Royal Rumble

This Saturday, WWE will kickoff its WrestleMania season with the 2022 Royal Rumble. To hype the event, the company has announced multiple legends for the women’s Royal Rumble match. Now, it appears there could be a huge name in the men’s match as well, as WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle is scheduled to appear in St. Louis this weekend.

Fightful Select confirmed the return of WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle. He will be in the city that is hosting the Premium Live Event, but could be seen at other media events. However, there have been “discussions about him returning as an on-screen presence in WWE.”

Kurt Angle gives an update on his in-ring return

It has been a long time since Kurt Angle wrestled. However, his return for the Royal Rumble PPV may not feature his in-ring return.

In a recent episode of Kurt Angle Show, a fan questioned Angle about a dream match between Gable Stevenson and Kurt Angle. However, Angle revealed he may not wrestle again.

He said, “Being out of wrestling the past few years, especially during the pandemic, I had a lot of physical problems.”

“A lot of problems I had from not doing anything, not working out as much as I did, sitting all the time, nothing to do, being stuck at home. I started to have a lot of back pain and knee pain and it got to the point to where I was like I probably won’t wrestle again.” [H/T Wrestling Inc]

WWE bringing more superstars at the 2022 Royal Rumble

WWE has already planned big surprises for the 2022 Royal Rumble with the likes of Michelle McCool, Summer Rae, and Lita returning for the Women’s match.

As per the reports, WWE has booked Sarah Logan and The Undertaker for their appearances at St. Louis. While ‘The Deadman’ will be there to lend moral support to his wife Michelle McCool, Sarah Logan could make a return to the ring.
