Over the last year and this year, WWE has been releasing talents back and forth. From veterans like Mickie James, Bray Wyatt to newbies like Aleister Black, Bronson Reed, Braun Strowman, no one is spared. WWE President Nick Khan reveals the reason behind these rapid releases.
Khan recently sat down with Ariel Helwani for a tell-all interview. They talked about business, management, and what goes behind the Titantron and on the board meetings.
Whenever a release happens, fans and critics start talking about Khan and Vince McMahon‘s contributions to it. Hence, Helwani asked Khan about his involvement (if/any) in the releases over the past year or so.

“There’s a collective of us, keep in mind in WWE there’s one boss — that’s Vince, as we all know,” Khan said. “Between Bruce Prichard, who oversees the entire creative process, between Kevin Dunn, who oversees all of our production, between Stephanie McMahon, Paul Levesque, all are involved in these decisions with ultimately Vince making the final decision on everything.”
When asked to explain the reason behind the vast number of releases, Nick Khan explained that he does not have one explanation. “I dunno that there’s one explanation for it, I think ultimately what’s looked at — is this person for us? Are they going to move the needle now or in the immanent future?” Khan said.

When people decide to leave WWE, that is fine by the management. WWE always looks out for what is best for the business. “For us, it’s what works for us and our product at that moment in time, and again, what’s going to work down the road. And largely, in part, the existing roster is based on that,” he mentioned.
