Last night, Edge and Bianca Belair made history at the Royal Rumble 2021. The ‘Rated R Superstar’ became the third person to win the Royal Rumble as a number one entrant. While in the title matches, both Roman Reigns and Drew McIntyre successfully defended their respective straps.

The next thing for the winners is to decide who they are going to challenge for the title match at WrestleMania. There are two championships available for each of them to challenge.

However, recent reports confirm Edge will face Roman Reigns for the Universal Title at the greatest show.

“Not sure when this will be officially announced, but Roman Reigns vs. Edge is the planned main event at WrestleMania,” said Dave Meltzer from the Wrestling Observer.

Both men showed utter dominance in their respective matches. Reigns dominated Kevin Owens and became the last man standing after a grueling half-hour battle.

Edge vs. Roman Reigns makes sense

Edge tore his triceps at the conclusion of his epic rivalry with Randy Orton. After that, he was inactive until the week before Royal Rumble.

He announce his entry into the match and claimed he will win the Rumble and go to WrestleMania 37 to win the title he ‘never lost.’ Back in 2011, Edge had to give up his World Heavyweight Championship because of his injury-induced retirement.

In the Rumble match, Edge won from number one and eliminated Randy Orton last, getting his revenge. Coincidentally, he also won it on the same date as his first Royal Rumble victory in 2010.

Currently, Drew McIntyre is the WWE Champion, but Edge is highly unlikely to challenge for that title. After this week’s Raw, McIntyre has his eyes set on Sheamus.

In recent times, the closest thing to the now-defunct World Heavyweight Championship is the Universal Championship. As Edge is a free agent and not tied to either Raw or SmackDown, he can easily go to the blue brand and challenge Roman’s dominance.

Meanwhile, Edge and Orton continued their rivalry on the Raw after Royal Rumble. This week (1/02/21), Edge won his match after Alexa Bliss distracted Orton.
