There haven’t been that many recent WWE stars that struck a chord with the fans like Braun Strowman. Debuting as part of the Wyatt family in 2015, he lived up to his nickname, ‘The Monster Among Men.’ With a staggering height, and build along with donning an all-black sheep mask, he not only impressed but intimidated everyone. Unfortunately, since the Wyatt family disbanded, Strowman hasn’t been able to be as successful as he was before. Furthermore, he was released from the company in 2021.

It was during this time other promotions were looking to swipe up the Monster due to his popularity among the wrestling faithful. Among all the challengers, one company was close to getting him.

Braun Strowman almost signed on with TNA rather than the WWE

On May 21, 2021, fans witnessed Strowman lose to Bobby Lashley in a WWE World Heavyweight Championship match. No one knew this would be the last time they would be seeing the Monster in the WWE. After months of little to no progress with his character, the company released Strowman in June of 2021.

After leaving the WWE, he would work at Control Your Narrative and Ring of Honor. It was during this time, as a free agent that TNA approached him. While what happened between the two is unknown, there are some reports as to why Strowman never signed on.

According to FightfulSelect, Strowman was given an offer by TNA. This has been something the WWE Universe knew about. However, what was speculated was that the offer had a seven-figure payday for the Monster. Unfortunately, according to the reports, this was far from true and he soon made his return to WWE.

How did Strowman return to the WWE and where is he now?

The fact that TNA could not pay such a lucrative amount for the former WWE star could have been the reason for him not signing with the company. It would be on September 5, 2022, that Strowman would make his return to WWE. Unfortunately, in 2023, he went on indefinite hiatus due to neck surgery. He was recently seen in India and made an appearance for the tribute show to Bray Wyatt after his passing.
