WWE’s inclusion of Daniel Bryan into the Universal title scene along with Roman Reigns and Edge had already raised some eyebrows. However, according to rumors, it might not just be limited to Fastlane 2021.

WWE already fixed Universal Champion Roman Reigns up against the winner of Royal Rumble 2021, Edge. However, if Daniel Bryan wins tonight at Fastlane, he will replace Reigns in the main event of WrestleMania.

According to industry insiders Dave Meltzer and Bryan Alvarez, there’s a chance WWE will include Bryan in the title scene in the future. But the official plan remains for a single one-on-one match, but a triple threat match at Mania can not be discarded.

Anything’s possible, but I did ask about that and that was a no a week ago. Not even a week ago, early mid-week,” Meltzer said about the possibility of the Triple Threat match.

Hence, there is a chance that Bryan might lose tonight only to be prepared for something bigger and better. The fans must also look forward to seeing Edge acting on his role as the ‘special guest enforcer.’

Could Daniel Bryan officially retire this year?

Daniel Bryan has talked about becoming a part-timer in the company. If he actually loses tonight’s match, it will be interesting to see how he fits into the upcoming WrestleMania scenario.

While discussing his ‘retirement’, Bryan said, “It’s not necessarily a decision to retire—it’s just a decision to stop being a full-time wrestler, and I don’t think that is going to change much, although maybe.”

“There’s not many things that can make me stop wrestling,” Bryan said. “But the one that made me really reconsider it was when my daughter said this: ‘Dada, please don’t go.’ And then all of a sudden, it’s like, ‘Oh, God!’

“My wife and I are talking about it, and we don’t have the answers, and it might just be trial-and-error to see what’s a good balance between being home and to be able to go do this thing that I love so much,” Bryan concluded.
