Apollo Crews responded to Big E’s challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship after attacking the latter on the latest episode of WWE SmackDown.

However, Apollo Crews clarified that the reason he attacked instead of just accepting the challenge is because he doesn’t work as per others’ wishes.

“Is it not obvious? Listen, I don’t come when Big E calls my name. I don’t come when anybody calls my name. I am a descendent of Nigerian Royalty. Do you understand that?”

After his explanation, Crews went to accept Big E’s challenge for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

“People like Big E, they cater to me. I gladly accept your challenge for the Intercontinental title, at Fastlane.”

Big E issued an open challenge on SmackDown

Big E returned on SmackDown: March 12, 2021, with a fire promo for the Intercontinental Championship open challenge.

The champion wanted to coax Apollo Crews to come out and fight for the championship. Unfortunately, it didn’t work out how Big E had hoped and he ended up having to defend the title against King Corbin and Sami Zayn.

Big E defended his title, but right before he could properly celebrate his victory, Apollo Crews appeared and viciously attacked Big E. Now, the duo will battle at WWE Fastlane: March 21, 2021.

Apollo Crews had attacked Big E before

Prior to this, Apollo Crews thrashed Big E, and it was bad enough for the champion to be carried out on a stretcher.

Big E’s disrespect motivated Crews’ attack towards him. The champion suggested Crews should step aside so that better Superstars can come forward for the WWE Intercontinental Championship.

After this attack, Apollo Crews appeared on WWE SmackDown in royalty clothes to establish his dominance. He announced to the WWE Universe that nobody can disrespect him and get away with it. That’s when he showed the WWE Universe his true Nigerian Royalty.

In fact, to prove who he truly is, he had Royal Guards who stood with him during the segment. This is when Crews announced Big E should prepare for a rematch for the Intercontinental Championship and this time, The Powerhouse of Positivity will fall to his knees.

Both Superstars can hold the WWE Intercontinental Championship. There’s no saying who will emerge victorious. However, it’s possible that this rivalry will not end at WWE Fastlane. If the audience responds well to the title match at Fastlane, the company might push it to The Grandest Stage of Them All.
