Big E defeated Sami Zayn on the December 25, 2020 episode of WWE SmackDown and emerged as the new Intercontinental Champion. This is the second time since 2013 that he is the IC Champion.

Following this, Big E went backstage where he was asked the reason for wearing a hard-hat. His response was a combination of humour and a well-executed monologue.

Big E used construction metaphors to show the world exactly how rough it is going to get for Sami Zayn. He revealed that he plans to continue construction, so he plans to shower Zayn with more brutality.

“I went to work on that boy’s behind. I opened up his cheeks and I said I’m doing construction here. I’m doing construction here, this is a construction site. And I took the yellow tape and I taped it around the boy’s behind and I said I’m doing work here. This is where we got to renovate, the boy’s behind! We got to renovate his cheeks cause I’m doing work here. Put out the caution tape, put out the orange cones. Everyone back away for fifth yards cause I’m doing construction here on Sami Zayn’s behind!”

He continued to rant a bit more about how the plan is to have a full-fledged housing development project. It’s a hilarious watch.
