WWE SummerSlam 2021 Writes It’s Name in History Books With Impressive Feat

WWE’s biggest party of the summer just ended with a bang. No one saw it coming when Brock Lesnar crashed the party at WWE SummerSlam. It looks like The Beast is the next roadblock in Roman’s reign as WWE Universal Champion.

As per reports, this year’s SummerSlam was the most-viewed and highest-grossing SummerSlam of all time. This is the power of John Cena vs Roman Reigns’ main event.

According to WWE’s official website, this SummerSlam —

  • More people watched Saturday’s event live across Peacock and WWE Network than any other SummerSlam in the company’s history. The seven-figure global audience marked a 55% increase over 2020 and a 29% increase over 2019.
  • The sellout crowd of 51,326 broke SummerSlam records for indoor attendance and gate receipts. With tickets purchased by fans from all 50 U.S. states, Saturday’s live gate was over four times greater than the last SummerSlam held with fans in attendance in 2019.
  • Merchandise sales posted an increase of 155% over 2019.
  • SummerSlam set a new sponsorship record, growing by 25% vs. 2019 and 18% vs. 2020.
  • With over four million views, Brock Lesnar’s return became WWE’s most-watched Instagram video of all time–surpassing the video of John Cena’s return at WWE Money in the Bank. SummerSlam videos generated over one billion views across all WWE social platforms during the week.

This was also expected since it was the first SummerSlam after the pandemic. The turnout was insane, to say the least!

Brock Lesnar makes a shocking return at WWE SummerSlam

This year’s SummerSlam had so many talking points, we don’t know where to start. But probably the most talked about moment was ‘The Beast‘ coming out after Roman’s win against John Cena.

The crowd just went nuts as soon as his music hit. However, Lesnar did not lay a hand on ‘The Head of the Table‘, but the sixteen-time World Champion was not so lucky. After the show went off the air, Lesnar went to town on Cena as he hit him with a barrage of suplexes and an F5.
