At UFC 257, Dustin Poirier knocked off Conor McGregor via a second round technical knockout. This was a monumental win for the 32-year-old lightweight and a tough loss for the Irishman. McGregor was the favourite heading into the fight, but Poirier fought a superb battle. He chopped away at his legs, before knocking him out with a second round flurry, and WWE stars had the time of their lives watching the fight.

WWE superstars react to Dustin Poirier vs Conor McGregor

A wide range of WWE superstars reacted to the incredible fight on Twitter. From faces of utter shock to congratulatory messages and even a breakdown of the fight, many responded to what people described as the biggest fight of the year.

Former Raw Tag Team Champion Angelo Dawkins tweeted a picture of him reacting to the fight. The shocked look on his face perfectly encapsulates the emotions of every UFC fan watching the fight. He responded to a tweet by SportsCenter, showing McGregor vs Poirier I from 2014, where the Irishman destroyed Dustin.

Renee Young is pretty active with reacting to UFC fights, and she was right on cue when Dustin knocked out Conor. The former WWE commentator’s reaction also summed up the reactions of many McGregor fans as they saw their favourite collapse to the ground. Would she have Dustin as a guest on her next podcast?

Former WWE superstar Ryback thanked the UFC fighters for putting on an amazing show. The Hurricane was critical of Conor McGregor‘s body language, claiming the Irish superstar did not look ‘hungry’ enough. This was quite an apt analysis of the fight.

Shayna Baszler breaks down why Conor lost

The best reaction to the fight came from former UFC fighter Shayna Baszler. Shayna fought in the UFC from 2013 to 2015, after which they released her to pursue a career in wrestling. Baszler attributed Dustin’s victory to the attack on McGregor’s feet.

Poirier kept chopping at McGregor’s legs while McGregor kept going for jabs. Conor tried to land a big uppercut, but Poirier blocked it, and went back to the kicks to the leg. Once McGregor’s base was softened, Dustin went on the attack and knocked him on his backside in no time.
