WWE TLC 2020 Records: Charlotte Flair, Miz, Asuka Achieve Major Milestones

WWE TLC was the promotion’s final pay-per-view of the year. What started on a high at the Royal Rumble, ended on a high as well at TLC.

WWE packed the show with exciting matches from top to bottom. It had everything you need in a Pay-per-view – the hype, the drama, and action.

Except for some edge of the seat action and unexpected moments, there were a few interesting stats coming out of WWE TLC you never thought you needed to know!

Some notable stats coming out of WWE TLC

WWE set the PPV to close the year, and we got one of the most exciting match card ever. Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns both defended their respective Championships in TLC Matches.

Speaking of TLC matches, as per WWE Stats & Info, defending Champions heading into a TLC match have a 59% chance of retaining their Championships.

Plus, this year marks 100% in championship defense in TLC matches. Drew McIntyre vs AJ Styles and Roman Reigns vs Kevin Owens were the 27th and 28th WWE TLC Matches.

The Scottish Warrior‘ has had a wonderful time at the TLC PPV. Exactly a decade ago, he won the Intercontinental Championship from John Morrison at TLC. This year, he defended his WWE Championship successfully.

This was the first WWE TLC pay-per-view after the 2016 brand split where the SmackDown Women’s Championship did not change hands. Otherwise, it was the only Women’s Championship to have crowned a new champion at WWE TLC.

TLC marked the first time the duo of Kofi Kingston and Xavier Woods lost a Tag Team Championship as partners. All the times that The New Day has lost their championship, Big E was one of the partners. It also marks Shelton Benjamin’s first Tag Team Championship in WWE since 2003!

For those who don’t know, there were WWF Women’s Tag Team Championship back in the 80s too! Velvet McIntyre was the first woman to hold the championship with two different partner’s back then. She held it with Princess Victoria and Desiree Petersen.

Today at WWE TLC, Asuka became the second Woman in WWE history to hold the Women’s Tag Team Championship with two different partners (Kairi Sane and Charlotte Flair).

The Miz became the 5th man in WWE history to unsuccessfully cash in his Money In The Bank Contract. Superstars who blew their chance earlier are Damien Sandow, John Cena, Baron Corbin and Braun Strowman.

And yes, fun fact for last – this year’s TLC also marks the first time a man (Randy Orton) has committed Arson live on PPV and he got away with it!
