WWE Turned Down Massive Goldberg Match at Crown Jewel 2021

Bill Goldberg is one of the greatest WWE legends who has provided many iconic matches to remember. Moreover, many young talents look at him as an inspiration. One of them is the current WWE Champion Big E.

Big E is now recognized by all WWE fans the world over and he is the second member of ‘The New Day’ to be the WWE Champion. Earlier, Kofi Kingston won the WWE title at WrestleMania 35.

Last July, Big E won the Money in the Bank Ladder match. Further, Big E cashed in his Money in the Bank contract against Bobby Lashley to win the WWE Title.

Till now, Big E had defended his title against Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. At Crown Jewel, he defeated Drew McIntyre to retain his WWE Title.

Big E reveals he pushed the WWE Management for his dream match with Goldberg

Recently, Big E talked to Sportsnet about being a WWE Champion and his dream match. He revealed that he pushed the WWE management for a dream match at Crown Jewel.

He said, “We’ve been in a top act in many ways (with the New Day) but there are so many singles matchups out there that are fresh for me. I was trying to make some noise for this Goldberg match at Crown Jewel, but that clearly (didn’t happen). It would have been really full circle. He was my childhood hero and idol, and I’ve spoken effusively about that.” [h/t Sporkskeeda]

Goldberg’s match with Big E would be the next we could expect. At Crown Jewel 2021, he defeated Bobby Lashley to end his feud with a shattering spear from the WWE stage. The iconic record between Goldberg and Brock Lesnar at Survivor Series is one of the iconic matches defeating Lesnar in 1 minute and 26 seconds.

Later, Big E also talked about his WWE Championship reign. He expects it to be a long run, and he assures fans he will try his best to keep the title around his waist.

Seth Rollins challenges Big E for the WWE Title

Last week at Monday Night RAW, Seth Rollins won the fatal 4-way ladder match for the No.1 contender contract. Big E is ready for its next opponent after slaying Bobby Lashley and Drew McIntyre. Seth Rollins will look out to dethrone the champion with his mind games and creepy talks.
