WWE Universal Champion Roman Reigns Reveals the First Time He Met Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson

Ever since Roman Reigns ditched his ‘Big Dog’ good guy persona and settled in the ‘Head of the Table’ character; he has been carrying the SmackDown brand on his back and he knows he cannot be stopped.

With Paul Heyman by his side, Roman’s current run as the Universal Champion seems unstoppable. However, the 16-time World Champion John Cena is back and looking to capture his 17th one.

Ever since he turned heel, the WWE Universe just wants the two Titans from the Samoan Dynasty to clash; the fans want to see The Rock and Roman Reigns square off against each other.

Roman Reigns talks about the time when he met The Rock for the first time

Speaking with Ryan Satin on his ‘Out of Character’ podcast, Satin asked Reigns about his earliest memory of meeting ‘The Great One’. He said that it was the time when Dwayne was just making his transition into ‘The Rock’.

Reigns further added that his two cousins and the current SmackDown tag team champions ‘The Usos’; he mentioned that all of them were very young.

“I think it was Biloxi, Mississippi, and this is when Dwayne had just started turning into ‘The Rock’ and starting to display that persona. I was young, like early teens, and I was with the twins, The Usos, and a younger brother who was about a year and a half younger than them. We’re just kind of walking out of catering, and here comes Dwayne, and man, he was just super nice. This is the first time I think I have ever met him. [He] Kind of real loud and just a huge ‘Hello’, and a big hug.”

Reigns ended the statement by saying that “From the very beginning, he was family.”.

The two Greats are yet to square off against inside the ring; however, WWE has currently no plans to have this fight.
