On Monday Night Raw, the Phenomenal One, AJ Styles, suffered a humiliating defeat. The current Raw Tag Team Champion couldn’t get past one of Raw’s most disposable characters, Jaxon Ryker. Although it plays into Elias and Ryker being serious title contenders, the result did not make the WWE Universe happy.

First, in under no circumstances can a former WWE Champion lose to a complete afterthought. It would’ve made more sense if Elias beat Styles, since he’s the more intriguing character. Instead, we saw Jaxon Ryker pick up the biggest win of his lifetime.

We must keep in mind that Ryker is someone WWE repackaged into little more than an errand boy for another heel. Ryker was a beast in NXT alongside the Forgotten Sons, but he remains the last member of the trio to still have a job in WWE. But that still does not warrant a win over a Grand Slam Champion.

Rhea Ripley suffered an embarrassing loss to Nikki Cross as well, but it still doesn’t mean Jaxon Ryker should hold a pinfall victory over a former IWGP Heavyweight Champion.

The post match scenes couldn’t bring smiles to the WWE Universe’s faces, even though Omos tossed Elias into the LED board like a tennis ball being hit by Serena Williams.

By the looks of it, Elias and Jaxon Ryker are your new top contenders for the Raw Tag Team Championships. Ryker’s tainted victory over Styles probably guarantees them a title shot soon. It’s unlikely WWE will put this match on the upcoming Hell in a Cell PPV card, although it’ll make a decent pre-show match.

Watching Omos swat Elias and Ryker away like flies will be glorious, but it’s clear what WWE has in mind. With their recent spell of success and them being the best part of Raw since WrestleMania, Randy Orton and Matt Riddle could take the titles away from the champions.

Interactions between the champions and Team RK-Bro have taken place already. However, a match between the two teams would set the WWE landscape on fire.
