Xavier Woods had a recent interaction with Adam Pearce on Twitter about the KOTR tournament, which teased a potential return. Woods was pointing out how his disappointment of not having the inter-gender match against Reckoning could be settled if the King of the Ring tournament makes its return. Pearce replied that the tournament’s return if it happens, will benefit not only Woods, but also the entire locker room.

When can we expect the return of the KOTR Tournament?

The current King of the Ring, Baron Corbin, is in a storyline with Shinsuke Nakamura that involves the crown he won. Nakamura will face Corbin in the coming week WWE SmackDown which will involve the crown. Over the past few weeks, Nakamura, with the help of Rick Boggs, has snatched the crown from Corbin, which has put the latter in a state of indignation.

Therefore, the fans can expect major updates from WWE after this week’s SmackDown when the match between Nakamura and Corbin ends.

The King of the Ring tournament was one of the most important titles till the early 2000s. But as years have gone by, the prominence of the title has taken an enormous hit.
