WWE made a controversial decision a while back which received major criticism from fans and Superstars. The company rolled out a new policy which banned Superstars from streaming on platforms such as Twitch using their in-ring names. However, Xavier Woods has provided clarity on the situation.
With a tweet, Woods revealed that currently, the policy is still in place. However, the company might make considerations in the future, and the Superstars can return to streaming on Twitch.
“Unfortunately, at this point in time, we are not allowed to be on twitch but hopefully we are given permission at some point. Hope that clears it up!”

Xavier Woods explains the story of UpUpDownDown
Woods clarified Superstars may stream on any platform that is owned by WWE with no hassle. This came after many pointed out he’s still streaming on UpUpDownDown even though the company has specifically put out a policy which bans Superstars from doing do.
“For those who have asked, @UpUpDwnDwn is owned by WWE and always has been.”
Even though Xavier Woods has claimed that the company might consider it in the future, WWE had clarified that they will allow nobody on external platforms using their in-ring names. The primary reason for this is WWE’s ownership of the entities.
For those who have asked – @UpUpDwnDwn is owned by WWE and always has been. Hence why we are allowed to stream on that platform. Unfortunately, at this point in time, we are not allowed to be on twitch but hopefully we are given permission at some point. Hope that clears it up!

WWE provided some clarity on the situation and said if Superstars earn a revenue from the external platforms, WWE will be liable to a certain percentage of the revenue.
Superstars such as AJ Styles, Sasha Banks, and others tried to get Vince McMahon to consider the situation. Unfortunately, they couldn’t get McMahon to change his mind.
The only way Superstars could be a part of external platforms is by using an entirely different name. This is where Xavier Woods thrived. He already reserved the name ‘Austin Creed’ for himself for such streaming purposes.
The policy was extremely strict, and the company implemented it immediately. One Superstar who found a loophole around the situation was Zelina Vega. She opened another account on another platform which provided the fans access for a subscription.
