If you think of the early 2000s WWE era, you’d most likely think of some of the top stars like the Rock, Triple H, Stone Cold Steve Austin, and many others. But there was another major star in the making. A short-haired, well-built 23–24-year-old who was once almost on the verge of getting fired before he became one of the GOATs of pro wrestling in history.

And it was none other than John Cena. While the newer audiences might remember him as the embodiment of the virtues of ‘Hustle, Loyalty, and Respect’, older audiences remember him for his trash-talking, career-saving rap persona that was ‘Doctor of Thuganomics’. And while it was normal for Cena to come to the ring and deliver raps as his promos, a WWE legend recently revealed that they did not keep his rapping limited to the ring.

The ‘Truth’ behind the decades-old rumor

In a recent clip that the WWE released on its YouTube channel, Jackie Redmond takes a short yet fun backstage interview with former hardcore champion R-Truth. The clip begins with Truth being asked about his favorite rappers and music videos, but things get quite interesting when a decades-old rumor is brought to light.

Jackie asks Truth if it is true that he recorded a song with the 16-time world champion, to which we get an unexpected reply. The 51-year-old confirmed that the rumor was indeed true. He simply said, “Yes, it is true.” He further went on to add that the reason behind them not releasing it was simply, “We just never released it.”

However, Jackie could not help but ask if the two were planning to finally release the track sometime soon. But rather than giving a concrete answer to the question, the veteran called it “a good question.” Well, maybe we will just have to wait till the two WWE legends decide to sit together and plan out a release date for their much-awaited single that sure would top the charts.

But when can we get to see Cena next? Well, that question is still left unanswered for now, but you sure can see him in his on-screen persona with the latest update on season 2 of his hit series, ‘Peacemaker’.

Peacemaker 2 updates raise hopes for the release date

Despite several attempts at achieving the same superstardom in Hollywood as Dwayne ‘The Rock’ Johnson, Cena’s acting career so far has been a hit and a miss. With inconsistencies being a constant in his acting career, he hit quite hard with DCEU’s Peacemaker.

The first season of the show was a success and left fans wanting more. The makers, too, confirmed that the show would be getting another season. But the next big question is, when?

Well, James Gunn has dropped a hint. The well-known writer-director uploaded a picture of his pet on the social media platform ‘Threads’ when fans swarmed him with questions, to which the writer even replied. One such question that caught Gunn’s attention was when a fan asked him, “Where are you at with Peacemaker S2?” To this, he replied, “Over halfway written.”
