Clashes between the sports world and the entertainment realm are nothing new. Popstars calling out athletes and vice versa have become quite common in today’s world. A pop sensation that seems to be getting targeted the most is Taylor Swift. Be it Grayson Waller or the soon-to-debut Sasha Banks, a.k.a Mercedes Mone on AEW. It looks like Swift cannot catch a break. Be it her fans or her boyfriend, Travis Kelce, someone or the other is roped in with her. Here is what the former WWE Women’s Champion had to say.

Sasha Banks claims that Taylor Swift’s “power” helped in the Super Bowl win

Recently, Banks did an interview with Evan Mack. Titled Mercedes Moné Varnado Speaks Out: Exclusive Interview, the two talked about many topics. Among them were Banks and the Super Bowl and why she supported the 49ers. While talking about her time there, she said, “That’s a lot of power. Good for her for helping her boo win. Let’s go. Because if Taylor wasn’t there, they would have lost for sure.” This was about Swift being present at the Super Bowl, which may have had something to do with Travis Kelce and the Kansas City Chiefs winning.

Many might consider this a massive leap or conspiracy theory. However, there are online forums that feel the same way. The fact that Swift is such a massive star, and has brought a lot of eyeballs to the NFL means that a loss for her boyfriend’s team would not be as beneficial as a win.

Moreover, the pop star’s boyfriend could have used all the support he could garner and be the talisman for his team to guide them to victory. A good deal of fans believe that Swift played a massive role in the win be it directly or indirectly.

This would not be the first time a wrestling icon has targeted the pop queen. Grayson Waller called her fans ugly on a social media post last year. Nevertheless, the former WWE star also talked about the prospect of hanging out with her former colleagues during the Super Bowl weekend.

Mercedes Mone talks about hanging out with WWE stars

Before this conversation, Banks was asked about meeting her WWE friends at the Super Bowl. The host, Mack, asked if she had faced any backlash. Banks said, “They think we’re still in the 1970s where kayfabe has to be so kayfabe.” The female star does make a good point in mentioning the deteriorating power of kayfabe due to the advent of social media in the modern. It’s unreasonable to suggest to stars to keep kayfabe intact when various factors go against them. Moreover, it doesn’t look like any of the criticism concerns The Boss as she had a fun time with her friends.

She went on to explain that she was not feuding with Bayley, Titus, Rey Mysterio, etc. These were among the WWE stars she met at the Super Bowl and took pictures with. She went on to say that despite working for other promotions, she will always hang out with her friends in the WWE. What did you think about her dig at Swift? Tell us in the comments down below.
