At WrestleMania 20, Brock Lesnar and Goldberg collided for the first time. Fans had high hopes for this match. But nothing like that happened, and the match got a great amount of hate. Everyone was expecting a hard-hitting contest, but since both wrestlers were leaving they didn’t put on a show that was worth the WrestleMania stage.

Initially, it was reported that Brock Lesnar was booked to win the match but Vince McMahon suddenly changed his mind. The reason behind this was unclear before. But according to the WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle, it was Lesnar’s own naivety that led to his disastrous defeat.

Recently, the former RAW general manager Kurt Angle pulled the drapes of the real reason behind Brock Lesnar’s defeat against Goldberg at WrestleMania 20. The WWE Hall of Famer revealed that before ‘Mania 20, Brock Lesnar came up to him and expressed his wish to leave the WWE and join NFL. To this Angle suggested he talk to Vince McMahon about it after WrestleMania.

However, Brock Lesnar didn’t listen and spilled everything before the big event. Kurt Angle revealed that it could be the possible reason that Vince McMahon booked Lesnar to lose against Goldberg and things might not be the same if ‘The Beast’ have “smartened up”.

Talking to the host about Brock Lesnar, Kurt Angle said, “We go back. We go to RAW, or SmackDown. We’re on SmackDown. He goes up to Vince. Says, ‘Vince, I want to try out for the NFL.’ I was like, “Oh! F*** man! He just f**** himself.” So, next week is WrestleMania and what happened… Brock Lesnar does the job against Goldberg. It would’ve been the other way if Brock would have smartened up but he didn’t because he’s an idiot.”

Brock Lesnar was doing pretty well in the WWE when he left to pursue his dream sport.

The real reason behind this was never revealed. But at that time, Lesnar met with a horrible accident and this was a key reason in bringing his NFL dream to a halt.

But the good thing was that Brock Lesnar returned to the combat world and earned a good name in both UFC and then WWE in his second run.
