Not Just the NFL, The Rock Was Denied Entry in This Canadian League as Well

Prior to him signing for WWE, The Rock played football in his college. In 1991, Dwayne Johnson was a part of the Miami Hurricanes’ national championship team.

He even had a dream of playing in the NFL and winning a Super Bowl, but sadly, that dream did not come true. After graduation, The Rock signed for the Calgary Stampeders who play in the CFL (Canadian Football League).

The former WWE Champion became a part of the practice roster. But later got cut just two months into the season.

Back in 2021, Dwayne Johnson made an emotional post talking about his dreams and love for football. In his post, he claimed the CFL changed his life.

While mentioning XFL’s partnership talks with CFL, The Rock noted, “Wherever it all leads, I can tell you this one is personal to me and is driven by all my passion – because me being cut by the CFL was the greatest thing that happened.”

“It set me on a path that years later would lead me right back to the league,” he added. Dwayne Johnson is truly an inspiration for many individuals.

From a failed football career to now owning a football league, Dwayne Johnson has come a long way in his life. But throughout all these years, his love and passion for football have remained the same.

Dwayne Johnson is presently the owner of the XFL. The XFL is a professional American football league.

Initially founded by Vince McMahon, The Rock, Dany Garcia, and Gerry Cardinale’s RedBird Capital purchased the XFL for $15 million in 2020.

Fans expect the XFL to relaunch next year. The XFL coach lineup recently got revealed and attracted a lot of attention from football fans all around the world.

Not only the fans, but Dwayne Johnson and others are also excited about the relaunch of the XFL.
