It has been almost 3 months since we last saw Pat McAfee on WWE NXT. McAfee last appeared at NXT TakeOver: War Games on December 6. NXT executive producer and WWE legend, Triple H, updated the fans on his sudden absence from WWE television.

During a pre-show media call ahead of NXT TakeOver: Vengeance Day, ‘The Gamerevealed the status of the former NFL punter. According to him, McAfee is out of the black-and-gold brand due to schedule conflicts.

McAfee is very popular amongst the football crowd. As Triple H pointed out, “almost every weekend that I look online during football season, Pat seems to be trending on the weekends. His coverage of football, his association with FanDuel, just everything that he does.

“Pat, he’s a busy dude, and we’ve been talking about it, and he had said, ‘Look, give me a moment to breathe when the Super Bowl is over.’ Because he just got married not that long ago, he’s like, ‘if I don’t take a breath for a minute after this Super Bowl, I might not be married too much longer,” joked Triple H.

McAfee was truly everywhere during the Super Bowl week. So, it’s evident that the sports-analyst will want a break.

Pat McAfee and Velveteen Dream will be back on WWE NXT according to Triple H

McAfee had an eight-year career in NFL during which he made it to two Pro Bowls and was an All-Pro in 2014. He signed a WWE contract in 2019 and has been enjoying the sports entertainment world so far.

I think he just needed to take a breather, and if we can engage here back again, he loves it, and that’s one thing I love about Pat. When you have somebody from outside that comes in and loves it, and by outside, it’s hard for me to even refer to him as an outsider because he loves what we do. It’s hard not to see him as an insider.
