WWE released a slew of superstars this year. While Raw and SmackDown remain the same, NXT took the biggest hit. However, there are some who feel that the Black & Gold brand isn’t as good as the Red and the Blue brand. One of them is the current NXT Champion Samoa Joe.
Nevertheless, WWE superstar Samoa Joe is confident in the brand and feels that NXT is the future of the company. It might only be a matter of time when many NXT superstars get a call up to the main roster.

Speaking to “So Catch”, Joe revealed,
“I think [Vince McMahon] perceives [NXT] as the future of his company. I think he’s heavily invested in it. It’s funny, I read all this stuff that I hear from people and then, at the same time, he’s probably the biggest proponent of its existence and much of what has happened thus far.”
“NXT is the future of WWE and it’s a big reason why I’m excited to be associated with it because I get to delve into the future and I get to work on new things and new projects and introducing new stars to the world and that’s something that, at this point in my career, I’m very excited to do.” (H/t Fightful)
There is still a good chunk of WWE fans who believe NXT has much better wrestlers and compelling storylines as compared to Raw or SmackDown. But we will not be taking sides here. The debate is up for the fans to conclude.
But there was a time when NXT’s ratings did struggle because of WWE’s rival company, AEW, airing at the same time. But that problem has solved itself well in WWE’s favor.

Former NXT Champion Karrion Kross is the latest example of NXT superstars getting their big break on the main roster. And since Kross will most probably be a full time Raw wrestler, it was only justified to take the NXT Championship from him and put it on Samoa Joe.
