Pat McAfee Makes a Legit Contract Offer to Adam Cole as WWE Contract Expires

The wrestling world is currently abuzz with Adam Cole’s departure from WWE. Although almost everyone is excited about what will happen in Cole’s life next, SmackDown commentator Pat McAfee could not care less.
Cole’s contract ran out at NXT TakeOver 36 past Sunday. Since then, everyone is speculating whether Cole will stay with WWE or branch out to the likes of AEW, or move back to ROH. This Monday it was confirmed that WWE has released the NXT Champion.
As Cole is now a free agent, things can go anywhere. He might stay in WWE as well! Amidst all these speculations, former NFL player and current SmackDown commentator, Pat McAfee has come up with his own career advice! He was previously upset with Cole.

In a recent tweet, McAfee gave Cole a “legit contract offer” to be the assistant of Ty Schmit and Bost0n Connor. Schmit and Connor are two hosts of the Pat McAfee Show. The analyst also added that Cole will receive, “$22,000 a year. No benefits but you’ll be able to build your resumé.”
Schmit cheekily replied, “Hey Cole, I just clogged the toilet.. going to need you to go snake that thing with your bare hands.” Even Adam himself replied with, “I’ll think about it… I’m kidding… I hate you.” To this, Schmit called Cole a moron.

The history between Adam Cole and Pat McAfee on NXT
Pat McAfee hosted Adam Cole as a special guest on McAfee’s radio show. Then, McAfee joked about how he was the ‘King of NXT.’ He further accredited the longest-reigning NXT Champion to his Undisputed Era.

Adam Cole issued a public apology, and later Triple H tried to mend the rift between the two. However, Cole continued to ridicule McAfee, which ultimately led to a match at NXT TakeOver XXX.

Despite losing the match at TakeOver XXX, McAfee continued attacking the Undisputed Era and Cole. NXT General Manager William Regal sanctioned a War Games match between The Undisputed Era and Team McAfee. This time McAfee lost again after Kyle O’Reilly from Undisputed Era pinned Oney Lorcan from Team McAfee.

Following this, McAfee left NXT to join the commentary team at SmackDown. He is currently inactive because he is COVID positive.
