“I’ll Never Be Able to Repay Him” – Jeff Hardy Reveals How The Undertaker Helped Him Early in His Career

Jeff Hardy is one of the living legends in the WWE roster. He is one of the few remnant superstars from the Attitude Era and he has no intention of slowing down. Hardy recently revealed how The Undertaker helped him transition into the superstar that he is today.

Hardy initially started in WWE (then WWF) with his brother Matt Hardy. The duo came to be known as the Hardy Boyz, revolutionizing the roster with their hardcore wrestling skills.

However, Hardy embarked upon a singles journey as well and he started with none other than ‘American Badass‘. In the ladder match, Hardy was defeated but earned The Undertaker’s respect.

In a recent interview with The Digital Spy, Hardy looked back at the match at thanked Undertaker for his help in it. He said, “Me being a young Jeff Hardy and going in there with the legend, the Hall of Famer known as The Undertaker, he’s pretty much like superhuman.”

For him to do what he did for me, I owe him so much. He helped me so much as far as what he did for me back then in that ladder match and I’ll never be able to repay him.”

Jeff Hardy paid a unique tribute to The Undertaker at Survivor Series

In the Undertaker’s Final Farewell at The Survivor Series, Jeff Hardy appeared. As he is known for his eccentric and intricate face paints, Hardy painted the Deadman’s symbol on his face as a tribute.

The Undertaker’s symbol was on the locker rooms that day and I said, ‘I think I can paint that on my face. And so I went in there, I had 45 minutes to paint it and it turned out so cool.”

“The respect and just like bowing down to the Deadman because he’s such a legacy and such a legend,” Jeff said.

Jeff Hardy is a multi-time world champion and a tag team and hardcore specialist. He currently wrestles on the Raw roster. However, it was the match with The Undertaker in  2002, that put him under the spotlight. After all, earning the respect of the Undertaker is no child’s play.
