WWE Draft 2020 saw its first major Superstar “shakeup.” After retaining each brand’s champions, SmackDown struck first. Many faces remain loyal to the brands, but as the first change, the Monday Night Messiah is headed to SmackDown! WWE Champion Drew McIntyre became the first pick, beating “The Tribal Chief” Roman Reigns.

Tonight was the night one for the annual WWE Draft. As Stephanie McMahon made her way onto the stage, she asserted how important the draft is.

In the very first pick of the night, the red brand retained WWE Champion Drew McIntyre. SmackDown followed the same route as they retained the Universal Champion, Roman Reigns. Hence, the world championships remain brand exclusive.

Up next, RAW retained its Women’s Champion Asuka. The first shock came after this as SmackDown secured the Monday Night Messiah, Seth Rollins.

To close the round, Raw retained the Hurt Business, with all 4 of them (MVP, Cedric Alexander, Shelton Benjamin, WWE United States Champion Bobby Lashley) coming back to the red brand. Since WWE is not breaking groups and considering them as a collective pick, this came as good news.

In the first shock of the WWE Draft 2020, Rollins is no longer a red brand player. Luckily, he is as excited as the fans.

WWE officials caught him right after the announcement, and Rollins was delighted. He said he was never about the name, just the message, and notes he’s been on RAW for his entire career and looks forward to new trailblazing in the blue brand.

However, Rollins is a little upset he won’t be there in person to see the Mysterio family implode. Even then, he is happy he’ll never have to see their faces again.

Hopefully, we will see more of the Monday Night (now Friday Night) Messiah, and new draft picks will truly shake things up. We will also get to know more about the future of Rollins’ disciple Murphy.
