Just days ahead of Elimination Chamber 2021, WWE has announced another big match. Following WWE SmackDown this week (19/02/21), the Women’s Tag Team Champions, Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler, will defend their titles at the PPV.

On this week’s SmackDown, the tag team champions appeared on “Ding Dong Hello!”, a talk show hosted by the former champion, Bayley. In the freewheeling conversation, the champions thrashed SmackDown Women’s Champion Sasha Banks and Royal Rumble 2021 winner Bianca Belair.

They called Sasha Banks “fake and phony” and Bianca “just as bad.” They applauded Bayley for getting rid of the two abominations. However, Banks and Belair soon made their way to the ring for a confrontation along with Carmella’s sommelier Reginald.

Then, in a shocking twist and turn of events, Reginald, Banks, and Belair defeated the tag team of Bayley, Jax, and Baszler. This was Reginald’s first victory in WWE as he pinned Jax.

Following this, WWE announced a match between the Tag Team Champions and Banks and Belair at the Elimination Chamber.

What to expect from Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler vs Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks at Elimination Chamber?

The decision to pit Belair and Banks against The Tag Team Champions comes as a shock for many. WWE already had the option of Naomi and Lana, who qualified to become the number one contenders for the tag titles three weeks ago on Raw.

On NXT, WWE had Dakota Kai and Raquel Gonzalez, who recently won the first-ever Dusty Rhodes Women’s Tag Team tournament. Apart from them, they also had an actual tag team in Riott Squad.

The match at Elimination Chamber will seek to establish Bianca Belair and Sasha Banks as potential WrestleMania opponents. The chemistry between them is undeniable, but to continuously snub new talent and tag teams to promote an already established rivalry is unacceptable.

We do not see a title change at Elimination Chamber. Maybe, Banks will attack Belair following their loss, and it will solidify their rivalry for Mania. We might also see Carmella interrupting the match with Reginald.
