WWE Makes A Surprise Announcement For Tag Team Turmoil at WrestleMania 37

After a lot of controversy, WWE has added another team to the Tag Team Turmoil Match on the first night of WrestleMania 37. The quaint team of Carmella and Billie Kay will join four other teams.
On the SmackDown go-home edition (4/9/21), WWE announced that the team will participate in the ‘Tag Team Turmoil’ match on the first night. The teams are from both RAW and SmackDown as the Tag Titles are inter-brand.
The Tag Team Turmoil match features Naomi & Lana (RAW), Mandy Rose & Dana Brooke (RAW), Natalya & Tamina (Natalya), The Riott Squad (Ruby Riott & Liv Morgan) (SmackDown), and Carmella & Kay (SmackDown). The winner of the match will face the Tag Team champions on the second night of Mania.

Earlier on RAW this week, Billie Kay actually said she might take part in the match. When asked for a partner, she said Carmella is reviewing her “resume.”
Nia Jax and Shayna Baszler are not too happy with the proceedings of their match at WrestleMania
Almost the entire women’s roster is competing for the Tag Titles. When the news was announced, Shayna Baszler refused to comment on it, saying “now is not a good time.”
On SmackDown, a brawl also broke amidst the contestants of the turmoil match. Natalya and Tamina dominated the other teams easily. Tamina also defeated Nia Jax on SmackDown via disqualification.

Coming back to the team of Carmella and Billie, the former hinted at this a while back. Carmella said she would either choose between Bayley and Billie Kay.

“I’m thinking either Billie Kay or I’m thinking Bayley. If you remember NXT, Bayley, and Carmella were the best of friends. She is my best friend in and out of the ring,” Carmella said. “That would be so much fun to tag with her. We would just destroy everybody.”
“And Billie Kay… I mean come on, what can’t that girl do? She makes everybody laugh, she’s so talented, she used to be a tag champ. I think those are two great choices. Either one, honestly maybe we can be like the New Day!”

There are a total of four matches. Apart from the tag team matches, there are matches for RAW and SmackDown Women’s Titles which feature Asuka vs Rhea Ripley and Sasha Banks vs Bianca Belair.
