A lot has happened since the last episode of Friday Night SmackDown aired. In the 02/02 episode, fans saw the return of Dwayne Johnson and it has been revealed that The Rock will be locking horns with Roman Reigns at WrestleMania 40 instead of Cody Rhodes. While fans wanted to see the two Samoan giants collide, they were never in favor of it happening at WrestleMania. This has led to an uproar as they believe it was not the right move from WWE considering Rhodes has been achieving new heights lately.

Apart from this, fans have been accusing Johnson of “stealing” Rhodes’ WrestleMania spot. Amidst all the chaos and drama, fans might soon get the good news that they have been waiting for.

According to a report by PW Insider, WWE might consider changing their The Rock vs Roman Reigns plans for WrestleMania 40 soon. The speculation here is that considering how big the two entities are, both WWE and Johnson could be actively monitoring the trends on social media. Also, since it is weekly live television and there are weeks left for WrestleMania to happen, the company might pivot to the original Cody Rhodes vs Roman Reigns plan for WrestleMania 40 due to the backlash by fans over the internet.

While fans have been rallying with the chants “We Want Cody”, here are a couple of reasons why fans may get what they want.

Two reasons why WWE might change the booking

One person who might be up for this booking to be changed will be Dwayne Johnson. As fans are aware, The Brahma Bull is quite particular about his public image. He has worked hard to build a persona that fans look up to. Apart from that, he is known as The People’s Champion for a reason. He might like to change this decision after seeing the backlash he has been receiving from fans, both off and online.
