After more than a year out of the squared circle, former Women’s Champion Becky Lynch is back in business. During the women’s championship match, Lynch made her surprise return to WWE.

WWE SmackDown Women’s championship match took an interesting turn. After the champion, Bianca Belair made her way into the ring, she was informed that her opponent Sasha Banks would not be able to compete.

In turn, Banks was replaced by former Champion Carmella. A visibly displeased Belair vowed to take her frustration out on Carmela before the music of Lynch hit. The crowd went wild, as ‘The Man‘ appeared.

She walked to the ring and soaked in the energy from the crowd. Lynch promptly attacked and kicked Carmella out of the ring as a loud “Becky” chant broke out.

Lynch then took the mic and offered herself as The EST’s new opponent. Belair accepted and the match was underway. Lynch extended her hand for a handshake but punched Belair instead.

Lynch quickly hit the Manhandle Slam and pinned Bianca. 1-2-3 and Lynch defeated Belair to win her fifth Women’s Championship in WWE. The fans were shocked, to say the least.

Becky Lynch took over Bianca Belair’s reign

Lynch had to give up on her RAW Women’s Championship last year as she took a sabbatical from WWE. She relinquished the title to Asuka on RAW as she was expecting her first child with Seth Rollins.

Their daughter Roux was born in December, and the couple got married earlier this year. Since then, the rumors of her return have been doing the rounds.

At WrestleMania 37, she and Banks became the first African-Americans to main event WrestleMania. Belair won the title and had a phenomenal run as the champion. However, that stopped at SummerSlam.

Following the loss, even Bianca was in disbelief and in tears. As The Man celebrated, The EST accepted her fate. However, their rivalry is far from over! Also, we wonder what are Sasha’s thoughts on this.
