Becky Lynch Reacts After WWE SmackDown Draws Almost 3 Million Viewers Upon Her Return

The SummerSlam return of Becky Lynch is proving to be fruitful for WWE. Last Friday it was Lynch’s first appearance on WWE TV, after over one year of absence because of pregnancy.

She returned to SummerSlam and promptly won the SmackDown Women’s Champion from Bianca Belair. ‘The Man’ opened the show and pronounced she was not sorry for her actions the last Saturday.

According to SpoilerTV, the Blue Brand garnered almost 2.87 million viewers on August 27 in the preliminary ratings. This number was up from last week’s viewership of 2.237 million viewers. This week’s show had a 0.65 rating in the 18 to 49 demographic.

During Becky‘s segment and in the first hour, the viewership shot up to almost 2.933 million and a 0.7 rating in the 18-49 demographic. In the second hour, the viewership was 2.815 million and 0.6 ratings in the 18-49 demographic.

The show opened with Lynch’s segment and ended with Roman Reigns‘ family celebrations. The fans were anticipating an appearance from the returning Brock Lesnar. Instead, Finn Balor and The Street Profits attacked The Bloodline.

These were just the preliminary ratings. The final ones will come in by Monday.

Becky Lynch reacts to the ratings boost on SmackDown

WWE SmackDown Women’s Champion soon got the news of the ratings. She reacted to the news on Twitter. Lynch, whose real name is Rebecca Quin, nicknamed herself “Ratings Rebecca.”

After severe criticisms of her title win, Lynch opened the segment by saying that she was not sorry for stealing Bianca Belair’s thunder at SummerSlam. To Lynch, timing is everything.

Bianca Belair came out and challenged Lynch for a match. But before she could respond, Carmella, Zelina Vega, and Liv Morgan all came out with their own challenge. When Bianca asked Lynch about the rematch, the latter flatly declined and left the ring.

After this, a fatal-four-way match took place to determine the number 1 contender for the title. Bianca Belair won after pinning Liv Morgan following a KOD. She has earned her future title shot. Now we have to wait and see when this match takes place.
