After last week’s announcement, this week’s SmackDown (6/18) saw the much-anticipated debut of Commander Azeez. He, and Intercontinental champion Apollo Crews, faced Big E and Kevin Owens in a tag team match.
The match was the opening match of Friday Night SmackDown. While all eyes were on the infamous Hell in a Cell main event, the contenders did their best to capture the attention of the fans watching at home.

First, the Nigerian Royalty and his Commander made their way out, and the two former IC champions followed in. The 7ft Giant looked indomitable in the ring as the match started off.
As the bell rang, Sami Zayn made his way to the commentary table. He then explained that his last week’s assault was nothing but a conspiracy of Kevin Owens. Hence, this week, Zayn wanted his former best friend to suffer.

Meanwhile, in the ring, the team of KO and Big E got the upper hand on Apollo Crews, but the cards soon changed as Azeez tagged in. He utterly dominated the duo and slammed them over the commentary table.
When Azeez threw KO to the commentary table, Sami continued to mock him. As Owens tried to get up and go inside the ring, Zayn even attempted to assault him, but could not.
However, this plan eventually worked. As Owens entered the ring, Azeez pinned him with the Nigerian Nail uppercut and got the victory. This marked Azeez’s first win in the SmackDown roster and his debut.
Following the win, Azeez hit another Nigerian Nail on Kevin Owens, and it left Sami Zayn overjoyed.

However, Kevin Owens might go after Sami Zayn following the assault. The latter was enjoying Owens’ embarrassing loss a little too much after he basically initiated it.
