The road to WrestleMania 37 is finally bustling with action. After weeks of speculation, Royal Rumble 2021 winner Edge has decided his opponent for the title match at the greatest show of them all.

At Sunday’s Elimination Chamber, Roman Reigns faced Daniel Bryan, the winner of the grueling Elimination Chamber match. An exhausted Bryan tried his best to defeat Roman Reigns.

Bryan applied the Yes Lock’ on Reigns but the latter quickly overpowered him. Consequently, Reigns applied the Guillotine Lock as Bryan passed out.

However, as Reigns was celebrating his win, berating Bryan inside the ring, the ‘Rated-R’ superstar‘ speared ‘The Tribal Chief‘ out of nowhere. Edge pointed at the WrestleMania sign as fireworks went off.

Commentators Michael Cole and Corey Graves then confirmed that Edge had chosen his opponent for Mania in Roman Reigns. This decision finally confirms the rumors we reported earlier on.

Edge is looking forward to winning the title he never lost

Back in 2011, then-WWE Heavyweight Champion, Edge, was forced to relinquish his title and retire because of a neck injury and other complications. After a decade, he came back to WWE at Royal Rumble 2020.

However, following an intense match with Randy Orton at Backlash last year, Edge suffered from torn triceps. Edge was inactive for the rest of 2020 and came back at Rumble 2021.

However, Edge made his intentions clear a long time ago. He is looking forward to regaining the title “he never lost.” Although the Heavyweight title is now defunct, the Universal title is the alternate for it.

Another thing to notice is that Edge retired as SmackDown’s World Champion. Hence, when he is coming back to get the title, it is obvious he will challenge SmackDown’s champion, i.e. Roman Reigns.
